Our Company
Buyer’s Distributing Inc. is a family owned and operated business with locations in LaFeria, TX and San Antonio, TX. For three generations Buyer’s Distributing has been providing the same level of service and support to our customers in both South and West Texas.
Originally operated as a retail sales company by Gene Catlett Jr. in conjunction with Ice Systems, a Manitowoc Wholesale distributor owned by Gene Catlett Sr. Buyers Distributing became the wholesale distributor in 1984 following the death of Gene Catlett Sr. Since 1984 Buyer’s Distributing has expanded from covering only the Rio Grande Valley to currently covering all of South Texas, including Laredo, Kingsville, Corpus Christi, Alice, Victoria and the most recent expansion in 1999 to include San Antonio, Fredericksburg, Kerrville and Eagle Pass. Currently Buyer’s is the Manitowoc Distributor for 46 South Texas Counties and the frontier of Mexico. Gene Catlett is still the owner of the company and continues to work actively in each of the sales markets the company serves. He has worked in the “ice machine business” as a service and installation technician, salesman, manager and owner since 1973.
Because of the diversity of employees and the evolvement of the company from retail to wholesale sales, Buyer’s has become the most knowledgeable distributor of ice and beverage equipment in South Texas. Offering products from 6 different ice and beverage equipment manufacturers including 3 Manitowoc Foodservice companies (Manitowoc ice, SerVend & Multiplex) has allowed Buyer’s to develop solutions for a variety of different customers in varying markets. New equipment development by manufacturers and being able to quickly adapt to the needs of the customer have been key factors in our development.
Buyer’s Distributing maintains a complete staff in each of its locations to serve all aspects of sales, order processing, customer service and technical support.
